About

Right Hand Guide is an independent site with plain-English guides for business owners who want to hire and work with virtual assistants (VAs), in the US, UK, Canada, Australia and elsewhere.

About the author

I'm Archjay, an IT professional focused on web development. I write under this name to keep my identity private.

Why this site exists

My partner wants to become a virtual assistant, and I watched her struggle to find real, honest guides. A lot of what she found was vague, repeated from page to page, or trying to sell something. So I started researching it properly, for her.

I read many sources, looked at reviews, and paid attention to what VAs say about their own experience. I also looked at people who hire VAs: what they need, what they want and where hiring goes wrong. This site puts that together in a simpler form. I made it for someone I love, and I'm happy to share it with everyone.

What you'll find here

Coming next: a scam watchlist

I'm planning to add a public watchlist of agencies and sites that official sources have warned about, so hirers and VAs can check before they trust anyone. Every entry will link to its source and show the date it was added, and I'll correct or remove anything that turns out to be wrong. Until then, start with the guide onhow to check if a VA agency or hiring site is legit.

How I work

I try to be practical and honest. I say what I know and what I don't, and I flag figures that change often, such as rates and platform fees, so you check current numbers before you act.

These guides are general information, not legal, tax or financial advice. Laws about contractors, employment and tax differ by country, so confirm the details with a qualified professional.

If you spot an error or an out-of-date figure, tell me and I will check it and update the page.

How the site is funded
